The Role:
We are looking for a Aquatics Quality Coordinator to join us in transforming our business from 'good' to 'great'! This is a thrilling time for our company, and we need a key team member like you to help us achieve unprecedented success.
What does the role involve?
Lead the development and maintenance of high-quality swim teaching standards across all aquatics programmes.
Mentor and support swim teachers to improve teaching practice, confidence, and programme delivery.
Support customers with performance-related queries by delivering clear, timely, and appropriate updates
Provide swim lesson cover where required to support programme continuity.
The team
You’ll be working within our Swim Team working with the Swim Coordinator and Aquatic Development Manager.
Your responsibilities:
Ensure learn-to-swim programmes are delivered in line with national governing body frameworks and best practice guidance.
Conduct regular lesson observations to monitor teaching quality and provide constructive feedback to swim teachers.
Identify training needs and support the professional development of swim teachers.
Assist with the onboarding and practical induction of new swim teachers.
Work with the Aquatics Coordinator to ensure programme delivery maintains consistent teaching standards across all sites.
Support the Aquatics Development Manager in reviewing programme structure, progression pathways, and curriculum delivery.
Monitor participant progression to ensure swimmers are progressing appropriately through the programme stages.
Review lesson plans, teaching resources, and delivery methods to ensure they support effective learning outcomes.
Support the implementation of quality assurance processes and continuous improvement initiatives within aquatics programmes.
Ensure aquatics programmes operate in line with safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies.
Support teachers with behaviour management, inclusion strategies, and adapting lessons to meet individual swimmer needs.
Assist with resolving customer queries relating to swimmer progression, lesson delivery, and teaching quality.
Understanding and utilising our system software's (eg., coursepro and Legend)
Your experience/qualifications:
A passion for swimming and experience of working with children and adults.
Delivering swim lessons to a variety of abilities and ages, including junior, adult and school swimming
To be a team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
Ambition for continuous professional development.
Experience in mentorship and staff development.
To be available and able to work unsocial hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
Level 2 teaching certificate – Swim England, STA or ASA.
Life saver qualification – Desirable
Safeguarding – Desirable
Parent & Child Qualification – Desirable
Your skills/competencies:
Strong understanding of learn-to-swim frameworks such as Swim England standards
Ability to observe, assess, and improve teaching practice
Knowledge of progression pathways (from beginner to advanced swimmers)
Confidence in delivering high-quality demonstrations and feedback
Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
Reliable, committed and conscientious
Motivated
Approachable
Open to new ideas and working practices and ability to embrace change
Excellent team player
